Sometimes, the most rewarding part of our journey as commercial photographers is looking back at the pivotal milestones that shaped our portfolio. One of our absolute proudest projects to date is our early collaboration with the global design powerhouse, Canva. During their foundational stages, right around the time they first opened their Manila office, they didn’t have an in-house production team yet. We were incredibly fortunate to step in and provide their photo and video content. It was an exhilarating time to help capture the visual narrative of a brand that was destined to revolutionize the creative world.
That strong working relationship eventually led to an unforgettable international milestone in 2017. Canva flew Jo Anne and me out to their global headquarters in Sydney, Australia, for a two-week immersion to shoot and produce their company culture video. During our stay, we also had the wonderful privilege of photographing their breathtaking workspace. Located on Lacey Street, the office was wonderfully non-conventional and completely redefined what a modern corporate environment could look like. It was an exceptionally open, light-filled hub that perfectly balanced raw industrial elements—like exposed brick walls, steel doors, and striking copper piping—with a vibrant, welcoming energy.
As creative photographers for office spaces, it was an absolute dream to capture the daily work areas of such brilliant, innovative people. From the expansive communal wooden tables to the playful in-house bar area adorned with an octopus mural and colorful string art, every corner reflected the authentic culture that fueled Canva’s early growth. Looking back at these Sydney archives always reminds us of why we love what we do—traveling to tell the visual stories of where great ideas are born. It remains one of our proudest projects, and a beautiful reminder of the magic that happens when creative minds collaborate.
